Division Rule for 9
If a number is divisible by nine the sum of its digits is divisible by 9.
Example.
8916345
Sum of the digit
8+9+1+6+3+4+5 = 36
36/9 = 4
number 8916345 is divisible by 9
Division rule for 11
If a number is divisible by eleven the difference between the sum of the digits in the even places and the sum of the digits in the odd places is 11 or 0.
Example.
23485 is shown to be divisible by 11 because
2 + 4 + 5 = 11
3 + 8 = 11
11 - 11 = 0
and
Example.
8916345

Division rule for 11
